Getting Married in New Hampshire
You do not have to be a resident of New Hampshire to be married in New Hampshire. If you have questions, we recommend that you contact the City or County Clerk where you want to get married. There is a $50 fee for your marriage license.
We also recommend you obtain your license about a month prior to your wedding date. There is no longer a waiting period in New Hampshire. Some websites may mention a three day waiting period, but this requirement was removed in 2006. Each marriage license is valid for ninety(90) days.

Once Kindred Spirits performs your marriage, we will file your marriage license with the town hall or city hall. This is done in person, or through certified mail. You may get an official copy of your marriage license once it is filed through the town r city hall, or:

- You will need photo identification, such as your driver's license.
- If you are 25 years or younger, you may be asked to show a certified copy of your birth certificate.
- You will also need to provide Social Security numbers.
- If you have been divorced, a certified copy of your divorce decree is required.
- If widowed, bring in a copy of your spouse's death certificate.
- As of January 2015, marriage licenses in New Hampshire will allow you to state what you plan on taking as a name once you are married.
